Last time I touched upon a new trend in video games, that being a new game in a long running series being made to be more like their earlier games. However there is another way for companies to inject some nostalgia into an aging series: a remake. The one company that has been most guilty of this is Square Enix, especially with the Final Fantasy series. Right now there just happen to be four different versions of Final Fantasy IV in the room with me.
Uncle Squeenix's latest remake this time around is a re-re-re-re-re-re-re-remake of both Final Fantasy I and II for the iPhone, and if that seemed like a lot of re's in that last line, just read the comic. You'll see I needed every one.
Also while I'm on the topic of the iPhone, what the hell is up with the iPad? I'm putting this on the list of things that should have stuck with their development names, along with the Wii.
