Another Moment with Brad.

April 19, 2010

Okay peoples, if you don’t have a sense of humor I’d recommend reading this before you read the comic, as the subject matter may be taking the wrong way.

Cancer, it sucks, I think we can all agree on that. I’ve lost several friends and family members to cancer, but one form of cancer has never effected me directly, breast cancer, which I suppose is lucky because it’s everywhere, literally. Pink baseball bats in MLB game during the month of May, pink lids on yogurt containers, and all those little pink ribbons. I myself have participated in a breast cancer walk. My question is why no testicular cancer awareness?

I mean the Lance Armstrong, probably the most publicized testicular cancer survivor out there, his foundation, and the related Livestrong bracelets and apparel, all the proceeds from that goes to general cancer research with a focus on increasing survival rates around the board.

Now don’t get me wrong I understand that statistically breast cancer is not only a more common form of cancer, as well as having a higher mortality rate than testicular cancer, but does that alone warrant the excess of coverage and publicity breast cancer gets? I mean come on, pink buckets of Kentucky Fried Chicken? South Park already proved KFC is the strongest force in preventing testicular cancer.
