Super Mushrooms, Harmless Power Up or Gateway Drug?

For a change of pace today let's focus on a classic, Super Mario Bros. I think pretty much everyone out there has played a Mario game at some point in their lives. So yeah if this comic is completely forgien to you then yeah, I don't know what to say.
As a side note this comic is based on fact since the clouds and bushes used the same sprite in the original Super Mario Bros. game.
