At Least They Haven't Fallen as Far as Atari Has.

April 6, 2012

Poor Sega, once they were on of the greats, going head to head with Nintendo back in the day, sadly after a few years of marketing and design snafus what was at one time the largest console manufacturer has become religated to software design, and lately that software has been less then stellar. No other way to say it, Sega is losing money. They came over a billion dollars shy of their expected profits last year and recorded substantial losses in the American and European markets, putting the future of several games in danger. At a time when Sega has stated that they're going to focus on their more marketable franchises, I have to think, what franchises? Other then Sonic what strong, long running, ongoing franchines does Sega have? Besides Sonic they have either old franchises that haven't seen a new gaame in over a decade, like Alex Kidd, Streets of Rage or the classic Phantasy Star series, or gamble on a relatively new IP like, Nignts, Shenmue, or Bayonetta. The fans have been clammering for a Shenmue 3 Sega, Make it!
