Ender’s Game is quite the book. One of my favorites, I think it’s a unanimously liked book among the nerdular throng. This little gem of a science fiction was written by Orson Scott Card back in 1977 as a short story that he expanded into a full length novel in 1985. It was the 1985 version of Ender’s Game that was the rocket ship that propelled Card into the heights of the Science Fiction genre. Then he wrote some sequels. Then he wrote some more sequels, and more sequels, and more sequels, and more sequels. Thirty five years later the Ender’s Game universe now contains dozens of novels and short stories to the point that the timeline for the series has become a convoluted web of sequels, prequels, sidequals and interquels.
Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of Ender’s Game, and I found Ender’s Shadow, the first case of Card writing a sudequel, to be very interesting to say the least, but at this point I’ve kind of grown tired of the series, and I know I can’t be the only one.
As a side note the last panel is not a lie, there apparently will be an Ender’s Game movie, after years of development hell a movie is being made.
