Character Equations: Part I

March 22, 2010

So earlier I mentioned I'd talk about the characters from Final Fantasy XIII later, and today's now is two weeks ago's later. Today I'll go over Lightning and Snow.

One of tthe first things that was said about Lightning was that she was the female Cloud Strife. I didn't know what to think about this cause I hate Cloud, he's a really weak overly complicated character. It would be easier for me to give a lecture of quantum mechanics than it would be to explain his backstory. So when I was told Lightning was going to be a femalte version of this already girly man I wasn't too enthused. Thankfully the only thing the two actually have in common is that they're both former soldiers, except Lightning actually is who she's claiming to be instead of pretending to be and/or thinking she is her dead best friend. Yeah I told you Cloud's backstory made no sense.

Snow's character is a bit more easier to grasp. He is the quintessential hero. He lives by a moral code and strives to always do the right thing, he's also very light hearted and jovial. He's the latest in a long line of martial artists in the series starting with the Black Belt in the original Final Fantasy. But unlike other martial artists like Yang, or Tifa his weapons aren't gloves or claws, no Snow uses his coat. Somehow the patch he wears on the back of his coat makes his punches more hurty, yeah I don't get it either.
