Look out peoples, us gamers are under attack once again, and who's attacking us this time? Why of course it's another uninformed semi professional that is completely ignorant to all things video games, yet the media is perfectly fine letting them attack the entire video game industry.
The semi professional in question today is Carole Lieberman, a psychiatrist and book author, who was quoted in a Fox News interview saying that “The increase in rapes can be attributed in large part to the playing out of sexual scenes in video games,” To this I say, what, seriously? games cause rape? I've been playing video games all my life, and know dozens of other gamers, and I can guarantee that there isn't a single rapist amoung us.
This quote came from an article from Fox News called, Is Bulletstorm the Worst Video Game in the World? An article that is dubious before the article even begins, as Bulletstorm hasn't even been released yet, so how can a game that no has even played be the worst game ever? The article than increases it's doubiousness by starting by saying, "Parents had better beware: There's a Bulletstorm on the horizon." Warning parents about the evils of the game and it's graphic violence. Now let me say this as simply as I can. THESE GAMES ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE PLAYED BY CHILDREN! If you child is playing this game, or any other violent game it is YOUR FAULT! Take the time to see what your children are doing for Christ's sake! You''re the parent, take some responcibility. Stop blaming the video game industry for all the evils of the world. The Game industry already monitors game content and rate games based on violence, and mature situations just like the movie industry. If you bought little Timmy a game rated M for mature, the kind of game you need to be 17 or older to buy, and little Timmy becomes emotionally scared, well guess who's fault it is, cause it isn't the game industry.
