The lights were dimmed, the sold out crowd of over fifty thousand that screamed and sang along with every song that night now quietly cheered in anticipation for the next number. Suddenly a spotlight opened on the stage and then focused upon me. The crowd’s volume and timber began to climb. They knew what song was coming next. For only a moment I look towards my band mates, Siren, Billy and Lil’ D, they weren’t the first band I was a part of, but at the moment I could honestly say I wouldn’t want to play with anyone else. I looked towards the audience once again and let out one last calming breath as I ran my fingers up the frets and raised my arm high in the air to rounds of cheers and applause. I silenced them with a humble nod and then began to play what would some day be known as the world’s greatest slap bass solo, but that’s more or less the end of the story, let’s start at the beginning for posterities’ sake.
