Stop Me if You've Heard This One Before.

Hunger Games! It's a book! And now a movie! I have to admit I haven't, read or seen either, but I know of them. More importantly I'm aware of the minor controversy over whether the story is partially stolem from a Japanese novel, turned movie Battle Royale. Suzanne Collins, the author of the book claims to have had no proir knowledge of Battle Royale, and only heard of it after submiting the finished novel, and I buy that, cause yes, The Hunger Games, and Battle Royale do have their similarities, but so do dozens of other stories. The Running Man and The Prize of Peril, The two I mention in the comic are both Orwellian future where a despotic govenment televise death games for entertainment. Hell if I'm going to say Orwellian, I might as well add, 1984, and you get add that without also adding Brave new World, and A Clockwork Orange. Hell you could even agree that Lord of the Flies belongs in this group too. What I'm trying to say is, Wacky possible near future super governments, doing evil, shocking stuff for the sake of oppressing and controlling the masses isn't an original notion. As I said in the comic, this shit has actually happened in our own history.
