EVERYBODY PANIC! ... Or Not.

Okay peoples, don't panic, but in case you haven't heard yet Disney has purchased Lucasfilm. Now what does this mean? Are they going to ruin Star Wars, or Indiana Jones? Probably not. Are they going to turn them into a soulless money making machine? Also probably not, I think Lucas has already marketed and merchandised Star Wars as much as physically possible. No the way I see it Lucas is ready to retire and he wanted to pass the torch to someone else, and seeing that Lucas already has more money than he knows what to do with and the fact that he's donating most of the $4 billion he got in the sale to charity you can't accuse Lucas of a cash grab. In the end the biggest reason you have not to fear about Disney purchasing Lucasflim has to be Marvel. When Disney bought Marvel a little over two years ago everyone rushed to panic about that same things, how Disney was going to ruin everything, meddle in the affairs of Marvel, but did that happen? No, no it didn't, in fact you could argue that Marvel is stronger than it is now, than it has been in years. So yeah, I'm hopeful for the future of Lucasfilms.
